Socorro Residential has an immediate opening for a CDW – bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
SUMMARY:
Assist the clients in discovering a way of life that can be lived without the use of chemicals . Support the client through the recovery process. Assists clients in the exploration of their lifestyle, emphasizing patterns of behavior.
DESCRIPTIONS OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Keep a schedule of regular counseling appointments with clients and be available for non-scheduled counseling or crisis counseling when needed.
2. Complete a bio-psycho-social assessments for each client. From the assessment, develop a treatment plan which includes goals and objectives. Through progress notes and other documentation, show progress or lack of progress the client is making toward achievement of those goals.
3. Attend weekly Case Conferences to discuss clients progress in relation to their treatment plan. Identify problems or achievements through staff discussion.
4. Attend weekly meetings with the treatment team. The focus will be continued training regarding systems, procedures and policies of Cri-Help.
5. Act as a liaison between clients and other service agencies involved in clients treatment, i.e., probation, parole, DPSS, EDD, DVR, referring case managers, and insurance providers.
6. Make occasional court appearances, attend, and actively participate in, monthly in-service training sessions.
7. Facilitate groups and educational classes as assigned by Director of Client Services.
8. Provide each client with an individualized continuing Care Plan.
9. Complete all necessary documentation in a timely manner, this will include P.O. reports, progress notes, discharge summaries, aftercare plans, etc.
10. Provide family support and education through conjoint sessions as well as family groups.
11. Interface with all staff regarding client treatment issues.
12. Participate in fundraising events and other activities as directed by Cri-help.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
1. Must be knowledgeable in identifying patterns common to this population.
2. The ability to document client activities and/or carry out such written assignments is required. The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
3. Due to the program philosophy, all clinic staff should have a good understanding of the Narcotics Anonymous and/or Alcoholics Anonymous programs. (i.e. the 12 steps)
4. The ability to establish a genuine therapeutic relationship with the client. Knowledge and ability to use counseling techniques to educate, elicit feelings, facilitate self-understanding, and motivate the client.
5. Ability to act as Case-Manager, coordinating a continuum of treatment and/or services for clients.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Minimum requirements for this position include thirty college level units in Chemical Dependency Studies and the CDW must have a minimum of (3) three years experience in a comparable setting.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Certified Alcoholism Counselor (CAC); Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (CADC); or Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC).

Overview
Drug Treatment Program in the L.A. area is seeking a qualified candidate to provide oversight for two Outpatient programs providing services to adolescents and adults; to provide supervision of the clinical and administrative operations of our outpatient services dept at our N. Hollywood facility, and to provide administrative, fiscal and clinical operations of our sister agency in Van Nuys.
Both positions report to the CEO/President and Chairman of the Board of Directors and require a Masters Degree in a related field or equivalent experience. Non-profit or public sector management working with chemically dependent clients in a treatment capacity and be certified in at least one of the following: CAC, CADC, CSAC.
Familiarity with CARF standards, state and local licensing/credentialing requirements, as well as experience in providing oversight of contract services, ensuring conformance to contract objectives, requirements and regulations is essential.
If a recovering addict/alcoholic, must have a minimum of five years continuous abstinence from drugs/alcohol and undergo random drug screening.
